… and then be faced with the daunting reality that your beloved lives with a condition that will not get better; that will continue to ravage the basic functions we rely on… namely a condition that takes our breath away.

For every online donation made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Gifts for a Cure campaign until December 31st, 2007, a very generous CF Dad has stepped forward and offered to match those donations dollar for dollar up to $1,000,000!  That means that those who donate through direct online donations, Gifts for a Cure, gift registry, and memorials will double their donations!

I begin my journey into blogging by thanking Andrew for giving me the focus I needed to start this. It is long overdue and without his prompting, would never have happened. (And you thought I wasn’t listening…)

I want this blog to represent the true issues of living with cystic fibrosis, encompassing not only the medical advancements being made, but also the social, financial and educational constraints that can plague the CF population and their families. I will highlight various fundraising endeavors and discuss methods of not only raising the money necessary to fight this disease, but also raising awareness about CF within the general population. I’ll also address my own adventures as I seek to raise the bar for quality care within cystic fibrosis care centers across the nation. In the meantime, I’m sowing the seeds to start a foundation, so stay tuned. Don’t worry ~ as I discover new things to post, you’ll be the first to know.
